Our team is headed up by two award-winning journalists, who have more than 50 years’ experience between them in the television and newspaper industry.
We also work with a trusted network of journalists, contacts and investigators to develop and produce high quality programmes for domestic and international broadcasters.
Lee has an extensive background in television documentary filmmaking and has produced and directed films in Britain and abroad during a career spanning some 30 years.
He specialises in producing and managing high-risk and challenging investigations for broadcasters. His credits include award-winning programmes such as Fashion Factories Undercover for ITV, which exposed child beatings and shocking safety conditions in Bangladesh sweatshops, and a two-part investigation for Al Jazeera into a violent far-right group in France, revealing its links to Marine Le Pen’s National Rally party.
Prior to setting up Lee Sorrell Media in 2009, Lee was Head of Investigations for ITV’s flagship current affairs series Tonight with Trevor McDonald, where he was responsible for a string of high-profile investigations. Among his notable credits were Terror in the Skies – which exposed major security lapses at Birmingham International Airport and the Real Dad’s Army – a two-part undercover investigation into the controversial campaign group Fathers 4 Justice.
Lee was previously Head of Investigations at London Weekend Television, where he produced an array of notable programmes for ITV and other broadcasters. He has also worked as a reporter for Channel 4’s Dispatches – uncovering abuses in the arms trade and going undercover to expose a sex trafficking ring in Thailand.
His work has led him to winning a number of industry awards – including an Amnesty International Media Award, Sue Lloyd Roberts Media Award and twice winner of the prestigious Wincott Foundation Award for Television Journalism. He has also been nominated for a number of RTS and Broadcast awards.
